About Huffy Glass

Ryan Hoffman, alias Huffy Glass, has been perfecting his art of making stunning borosilicate glass designs for over two decades. Huffy Glass is known for creating high-quality scientific glass designs with 8th century Venetian techniques. His innovations and ideas stem from what he learned at the Penland School of Craft near Asheville, NC.

He often includes some extra flair, such as the use of color, sand-etching, gold leaf, 24k gold, silver, and other natural elements. Ryan’s exclusive creations include vessels, jewelry, and goblets. These hand-blown designs are made in his downtown Bloomington, Indiana gallery, Volta Glass Studio.

Volta Glass Studio

To help to raise awareness for the glass industry, Ryan established Volta Glass Studio based in Indiana just over a decade ago. And a decade prior, he went to Penland School of Craft where he was a student and also an assistant instructor. After a debilitating injury to his hand, he had to hit the pause button with his creating. He then made the decision to take his creativity to the next level. So he introduced his signature gridded line indents into his current work.

He also partners with talented people in the glass industry, creating some collabs that are awe-inspiring. The Huffy brand has now grown to a size where they employ many talented artisans. Giving them an opportunity to bring their own unique style and flair to the table.
