Even though it would be ideal, not all glass joints can be used interchangeably. Even when they do, the connection isn’t always as secure as one might hope. That’s where a downstem clip (also known as a keck clip) or an adapter comes in handy. When you have a glass attachment or slide with a female joint, you’ll need a male-to-male adapter. The clip, on the other hand, ensures that any attached glass remains securely in place.
